Commercial Description:
Gourmet chocolate raspberry coffee is used in the brewing process to achieve this unique flavor and aroma. With a rich dark color this medium bodied stout finishes fairly dry with subtle hints of chocolate, coffee and raspberry flavors.

Tap @ Arundel Mills: The beer was an almost opaque chestnut brown color with a beige head. The aroma had big raspberry notes with some dark chocolate underneath. It smelled like those chewy chocolate covered candy log things. The flavor was roasty and the raspberry was light. Nothing like the aroma. There was also a hint of coffee. The flavor lightened up a good bit on the finish. Medium bodied.

Pours a deep black color with a powerful raspberry aroma and hints of chocolate. Sweet taste with chocolate and some coffee upfront and a raspberry finish. A bit light for a stout.

pour is essentially a stout...solid black with very little head....huge rasberry and chocolate nose...more raspberry than any other fruit stout i can remember...chocolate and coffee are in the middle with more raspberry at the end...smooth sweet finish. if a little thin on the body.

Draft from the brew pub. Raspberry stout. Good fruit flavor. Nice base stout. Smooth and easy. Too much fruit and not enough coffee. Not well integrated.

Tap, Bowie location. Pours a dark brown center; light-tan head with a pinkish tinge, decent lacing. Dark chocolate and tart raspberries in the aroma; hints of roasted malts. Medium, milk chocolate mouthfeel: hints of roasted malts and fresh raspberries; light carbonation and slightly dry coffee character. Medium, chocolate and raspberry finish.

Dark brown to black, tan head, light nose of raspberry and coffee, flavor dominated by coffee with hints of chocolate, light mouthfeel. Easy to drink many of these.

The cofee that DuClaw uses to flavor this seasonal dominates the palate. This year’s example has a very defined raspberry flavor, followed by the ccholoate, then coffee, and then stout. A definite dessert beer.

The first beer release party I enjoyed with DuClaw and definately a suprise. A stout beer with clear chocolate and raspberry tones that are only filled with a medium body. Drink it as dessert or all night long. Brought home a growler and enjoyed it in 24 hours... never had a brew like it and I’m looking forward to next February to see if it comes back.
