whkingery (8), Charles Town, West Virginia, USA does not count Nov 14, 2006 A light chocolate/bourbon/woody taste, smooth on the palate, med. carbonation, and a clear maple appearance. Good Stuff jasonp (1416), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Nov 11, 2006 Sampled at Dutch 70’s "Tasting in the Woods; Part Deux". Dark brown/mahogany with a high, light brown head. Somewhat of a subtle oak character in the nose. Flavor definitely has a nice chocolate chip cookie dough flavor along with notes caramel, chocolate, brown sugar, vanilla (sounds like a cookie recipe) and some wood. Pleasantly sweet with a nice bittering hop presence. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Enjoyable. kmweaver (1762), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Nov 9, 2006 TITW Part Deux - Large handbottle courtesy of scraff! Pours a dark brown appearance, with a dark tan head; good retention. Chewy vanilla oak and light bourbon in the aroma. Nice level of carbonation; medium mouthfeel: sweet bourbon, toasty vanilla, light oak, light (almost watery) milk chocolate/porter background. Medium finish: slightly dry, showing dark chocolate and oak. ryan (1648), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Nov 8, 2006 TITWPD. Brown body with a whispy, tan head. The aroma is oak, molases and chocolate. The flavor is vanilla, chocolate, light roast and caramel. Medium/light body with a slightly thin textrue and a dry finish. scraff (1602), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Nov 7, 2006 Bottle - TITW Part Deux - Deep brown, bordering black, creamy tan head. Nice tones of chocolale chip cookies, vanilla, and oak, with just the faintest hint of coconut. Flavor was soft with more of the above notes, but add a very faint maple tone to it. Was well balanced throughout, rich, with a light bitterness rounding it out. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dark chocolate-like finish. Very good stuff, but would have been better suited to be called porter vs. baltic porter. No matter, I dig it! Thanks Jim. Keep up the great work...
