Firkin @ DuClaw Real Ale Festival. Deep brown and black pour with very little head. The head that is there is light tan. Very nice coffee, smoke, camp fire, and bourbon aroma. Initial tast was a lot of coffee. Subsequent tastes revealed sweet cream, bourbon, Great depth of flavor. Good roast and fairly smooth bitterness. Oak added to the already great BJ Stout. Good idea Jim!

Courtesy of Dragonstout. The aroma is rich milk and dark chocolate with cocoa, vanilla, bourbon, oak and coffee. The body is full black and holds a thick mocha head. Big boozy bourbon at first then some vanilla and oak followed by that coconut like flavor I get in a lot of barrel aged beers. Coffee, chocolate, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Not as intense of an alcohol burn as I thought it would be. Very nice.

Swing top shared by sloth. Pours a deep dark brown black. Nose tantilzes your expectations and does not dissapoint. Full pour results in a robust, rocky tan head. Thick dense quaff rings are left behind after first mouthfull. but fail to stick about long, as if they wish to be consumed with the liquid they were created with. Mellowed bourbon thru nose and body. Big and full chocolate malts get a bit sludgy near the bottom of the bottle, caramel and some walnut tones. Silky smooth finish. Thanks Bertly for this rarity.

1 Litre bottle from the brewery, thanks Jim! Large tan/light brown head, good retention with a thin lacing. Pitch black color. Nose is lightly woody with some dark fruits, roast, chocolate and tame bourbon notes. Body is med/full, creamy and lightly oily on the palate, carbonation is soft. Mellow bourbony, woody notes with more roast, chocolate, hints of vanilla and dark fruits. Bourbony roasty finish is almost dry. An easy drinkin BA brew. Well done!

This was a dark creamy smooth stout with flavors of coffee and malts and a small tan head, the barrell aged flavor is not that present and not very strong for an ips.CHEERS!

Sampled at "An evening with Pantanap #3 Thanks Matt! Dark brown with large tan head. Lots of aged fruit in the aroma with aged malty cherry, roast, and vanilla. Flavor is chocolate, cherry, oaky, very aged. Creamy full body. Very nice.

1L Bottle thanks to trub. Wow what a great guy, sorry it took me so long to rate it, but I wanted to share it with good people. Enjoyed at an Evening with Pantanap #3. Pours black with a frothy tan head. Sweet chocolates and roasted malt blend together nicely in the nose with a touch of vanilla and bourbon. Lightly bitter roast, chocolatey, oak, and a light vanilla sweetness. Tasty beer, a lot better than the regular. Cheers trub!

bottle (1L swingtop) sampled at an Evening w/ P3 and provided by matt. big thanks is right!....poured almost black with a moderate tan head....an equally appealling nose was made up of chocolate, roast, oaky vanilla, and subtle bourbon notes.... flavors right on par with the aroma as it similarly displayed huge chocolate notes and some added roastiness. i agree with andrew on the body and carbonation.... i’m glad i was lucky enough to try this ba impy stout. thanks again matt.
