bottle (1L swingtop) sampled at an Evening w/ P3 and provided by matt. big thanks is right!....poured almost black with a moderate tan head....an equally appealling nose was made up of chocolate, roast, oaky vanilla, and subtle bourbon notes.... flavors right on par with the aroma as it similarly displayed huge chocolate notes and some added roastiness. i agree with andrew on the body and carbonation.... i’m glad i was lucky enough to try this ba impy stout. thanks again matt.

1L bottle, sampled at "An evening with Pantanap #3", big thanks to holdenn for sharing. pours black with foamy dark tan head. nose is chocolate, roast, sweet caramel. flavor is caramelly, nice hoppy presence still, coffee roast, chocolate, and slight oakyness. good body and smooth carbonation. didn’t get that much bourbon barrel notes but the oak held this wonderful stout together nicely. improved upon regular black jack.

Sampled at RBSG from Scraff.I thought this was a bit thin and rather tasteless. Some BA-ing notes but really the nose was better than the flavors.

Courtesy of DragonStout. Pours black with creamy light brown head. The aroma is complex with oak notes up front then sweet malts, burnt malts, hints of blue veined cheese and faint alcohol. Yummy flavors. Rich smooth burnt to sweet maltiness followed by planks of oak. Nice combination. I get a faint bourbon – whiskey like note in the background. It ends with burnt flavors mixed with oakiness. I love the flavor mixture. Big bold and smooth.

Courtesy DragonStout. Black with a 1 cm tan head. Aroma is dominated by a clean oakiness that is supported roast and alcohol, and not muscled around either as these brews tend to have happen. Little bourbon in the aroma. Creamy palate, low carbonation. Alcohol a little more noticable on the nose as the brew warms. The taste is oaky to start, with a wave of smooth roast coming in. Very smooth and the oak and roast are well balanced. Thanks Brian.

Huge thanks to Dragonstout for sharing this rare gem. Pours black, with a small light brown head. Smells of really big, syrupy dark malts, some dark fruits, oak, caramel, and light chocolate. The flavor had more of that chocolate I got in the aroma, dark malts, creamy palate, oak, and caramel. Seems to be a nice blend of flavors that go together well, and the oak certainly is present and gives it an added bonus. Smooth, easy drinking, alcohol was masked nicely. I really enjoyed this brew.

Tampa RB Gathering Beer #7....courtesy DragonStout....dark brown/black pour with a creamy mocha head, lasting ring....nose of chocolate, bourbon, coffee, dark malts and fruits....flavor is heavy on the bourbon with a sweet milk chocolate backbone....no noticeable heat from the barrel....full bodied, creamy full palate....lengthy roasty finish....good beer
