hotstuff (3015), Indiana, USA Jun 17, 2006 Bottle. Small tan head that mostly diminished with sparse lacing, no visible carbonation, transparent, and a reddish brown hue. Nose was malty, caramel, oak and vanilla. Flavor mimicked the nose plus a hint of chocolate. Smooth palate. Light-medium body. scraff (1612), Baltimore, Maryland, USA May 30, 2006 Cask @ the Mills - Turbid rusty brown, thick creamy white head. Nose was nice with mellowed tones of vanilla, caramel, bourbon, wood, and touches of chocolate. Soft fruity oak, caramel, and vanilla flavors are found throughout, but upon warming, hints of chocolate tend to emerge. Light to medium bodied, soft smooth carbonation, oaky, semi-sweet, finish. Good stuff Jim. Now how bout some Devil’s Milk in the barrel? hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 1, 2006 1 liter bottle... DLD06... This beer rocks!... Mostly clear, amber beer with an orange tint. Small, fizzy, white head. The aroma and flavor are both malty and woodsy with lots of caramel, bourbon, oak and vanilla. A rumor of honey. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. World class brew. Thanks go out to Jim Wagner for providing the bottle! tjthresh (1250), LaPorte, Indiana and Belton, Missouri, USA May 1, 2006 Sampled at Dark Lord Day 06. Lots of char, and oaky vanilla aroma. Brilliant clear reds and ambers in apperance with no sign of head. The flavors are very oaky and some oxidized character. Dries out on the tongue rather quickly. I hate this term, but it would be a nice fire side sipper. I mean really, do people still sit by a fire sipping whatever?
