grymy (105), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Apr 7, 2003 absolutely deliciuos, this could possibly be one of my favorite brews, the caramel taste stays on your tongue and the alcohol content is beautiful happy4hops (365), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Jan 17, 2005 2005.My first impression of this ale was amaretto? Ale? A very nice tease of roasted, caramel sweetness,I like the term already mentioned(fuzzy fruits) and yes everything is very fresh(malt and hops)Malts win, hops balance.A very deep amber brown color with a nice short tan head and some sparce lace.Tasty and pretty damn unique.I enjoy the extra hops used in this one(extra, meaning more than that of your standard old ale) Nice silky med-full body(mouthfeel) with an enjoyable hop tingle that balances perfectly IMO.Glad I have snagged a few growlers of this, come and gone before you know it gem.Did I mention that there is some very nicely captured English roots to the soul of this beer(yeast strain ?). Caramel everything, Look, Flaver, Feel everything. Great beer and best yet only a six dollar pour. Keep Up the good work JIM scraff (1667), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Apr 22, 2004 Crimson and hints of brown, tan head disappeared almost instantly. Nose of fuzzy fruits, caramel and fresh bread. Rich, sweet, malty, fruity with some citric hops giving the sweetness a run for its money. Medium carbonation and quite drinkable in my book. Good stuff! Beerdogg (9), Edgewood, Maryland, USA does not count Mar 24, 2003 Excellent beer. Between this one and the Fantome, it is hard to decide which beer I enjoy the most. I enjoy the sweetness of this beer. It blends well with the hops. The molasses has kicked it up a notch and I enjoy it so. My only bad comment is that I feel that it should become a regular beer instead of a seasonal. But that's just my opinon. Keep up the good work Jim.
