KnutAlbert (2122), Oslo, Norway Dec 5, 2006 Nice port overtones, on the sweet side. Lots of flavour - coffee, fortified wine, prunes, liquorice. Nice for sipping. Another fine porter from Denmark. CaptainCougar (4599), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 14, 2007 Bottle thanks to Papsoe: Pours an opaque black with dark brown edges and a nicely lacing dark tan head. Aroma of sweet doughy caramel with some dark chocolate malty notes. Body starts with decent viscosity and nice smooth caramel chocolate flavor toward a well-balanced, smooth finish. A very drinkable and flavorfull "semi-imperial" stout. fiulijn (5695), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Oct 26, 2006 Black color; huge thick brown head. Smells like an end of a drinking night in Copenhagen; there is some roasted malt and vanilla. Medium body structure, pretty good caramel and malt taste, with some roasted malt and liquorice, but on the sweet side; good chewy malt, with some fruitness; correct bitterness. Not too much emotional, but honest Imperial Stout. jbrus (4024), Delft, Netherlands Feb 24, 2007 Bottled. The aroma was a little disappointing, quite weak and nothing more than moccha. But still not bad at all. Pours thick, very black, firm brown head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, blackcurrant, roasted, thick and dusty. Or better said: it has all a Imperial Stout needs. But because of the lower ABV it’s much easier to drink. I would love to have a case of this stuff to drink when I’m into something nice and special but not too complex. Thanks Papsoe! Pete_the_Meat (475), Hove, Denmark Apr 22, 2007 Black, unclear, brown head. Rich flavour with coffee, roasted malts, notes of licorice, tar (even rope...). Complex aroma dominated by coffee, some chocolate and then tar, roasted malts, smoke and licorice. Some underlying malty sweetness. Very impressive (but too expensive to regular abuse...).
