Pours a clear dark brown body with a large frothy light brown head that retained for ever. Very active visible carbonation. The nose is quite hoppy with lots of roasted and chocolate malts, some coffee and cocoa powder, earthy yeast, and some nutty dryness. Luscious fresh brewed coffee, roast, and dry nuttiness up front. The finish is rather bitter and a bit bitingly astringent and burnt with a good deal of hoppiness. Very dry overall. There’s a metallic note that comes on late in the finish that I don’t care for too much. Mouthfeel is a bit too over carbonated, but after it settled a bit it got a little more of a clingy oily texture. Overall, pretty decent, but the more of it I drank, the more the astringency and metallic flavors became a problem for me. after4ever (2809), Brier, Washington, USA

Served a next to black body under a tan head leaving nice lacings. Coffee, chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma. It is very smooth in the mouth, full-bodied and somehow dryish, even though it is sugary sweet. Coffee, burnt malt, some chocolate and a little hoppy bitterness too. Long coffee-like finish with coffee-like bitterness too. Lovely. (080913) BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal

First impression is a lot of licorice and it is the final result I still have of this beer in my mind. Maybe not what I had expected, but I must try it again.

Aroma and taste are rich with coffeebut also very dominated by coffee. Some licorice, chocolate and roast malt as well. wkalle (116), Sweden
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 25, 2008 50 cl bottle, poured a lightbrown thick creamy mostly lasting head. Nice aroma of coffee and chocolate which also dominates the flavor but there is also some really harsh bitterness and acidic taste which doesn’t appeal to me. Fin (3460), Merton, Oxfordshire, England

Had lovely thick mouthfeel, really nice.
