| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Bottle via brother TAR from some friendly Danes. Unfiltered, dark brown body. Tan head, finely bubbled, attractive. Nose is intensely sweet fruit cocktail/marachino cherries/pear/syrup... crystal malt also present but sweet rather than caramely/grainy/toasty. Moderately harsh texture, crystal malt is crusty/sharp/astringent. Sweetened blood oranges and grapefruit throughout. Harsh, intensely bitter and abrasive at times, messy, but still somewhat enjoyable. hirigalzkar (599), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Draft. Brownish with beige head, not that nice almost "dirty" look. After smelling and tasting though, I didn’t care how it looked. Complex combination of hops and fruits, nice bitterness. Usually not a fan of high alcohol ales, but this was more than alright. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2008 50 cl bottle, via sk8viking. Pours a dark ruby amber body with a great frothy beige head. Spotty sticky lacing. The nose is moderate piney hops with a good bit of crystal malt sweetness. Aggressively piney hop bitterness up front, but a little too much crystal malt coming on in the finish. It makes it too sweet, it reminds me of Lipton Iced Tea powder. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with some stickiness on the back end. Moderate fizzy prickly carbonation. It gets a bit heavy on the palate after a while. IPAs with lots of crystal malt are just not my thing. Big dominating crystal malt has no place in an IPA.
