The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and a flowery dusty hop note. The flavor is very sweet with lots of caramel, which makes the mouthfeel a bit sticky, combined with alcohol lurching in the back ground. The hops notes are flowery - with a touch of lime - a combination of English and American hops? The body is thick. My first guess would not be an IPA, rather a English Strong Ale. Medium body with rich, caramelish notes and then an extremeky fresh, citrusy hopping that leaves a solid but not overpowering bitterness. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Updated: Sep 20, 2006[Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68, Stockholm] Hazy brownish amber, firm head. Concentrated hay aroma of English hops with some orange thrown in. Dryish with clean mouthfel. Solidly malty. Roasty with notes of chocolate and rather intense hop presence. Salty finish with long bitterness. Well balanced - far from the American hop monsters, and possibly more of a good, overhopped English strong ale. fonefan (11891), VestJylland, Denmark
