The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malty and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of soy sauce, caramel, coffee, cinnamon, wood, and alcohol. The body is strong, and the alcohol burns in the throat. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2007 Bottled at RBESG ’07. Dark brown, no head. Aroma of cocoa liqueur. Sweet and very potent. Concentrated flavour of cocoa powder, red berries and brandy. Full bodied is an understatement, it’äs massive. Still a bit young, so it’s rather sugary. A hugely warming beer with loads of character. harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England

Bottle at RBESG. Pretty much exactly as its little half brother but with some extreme knobs on. The extra alcohol is the only thing that stands out compared between the two and for me it tips it just a little too far into the extreme. Excellent beer all the same. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Made without dark malts this one and the information is of significant importance. This monster appears in a dark brown attribute, covered by a fading off-white cover. Sugary and fruity nose can’t help, but have us think of date squares. Molasses and corn beer background. More intense in mouth where it never approaches to feeling like 16%+. Full on berry, dark plum and date flavours. The fruitiness is its soul, but not its entire being. Licorice and earthy caramel finish. Syrupy, full-bodied, and begging for a quick teeth cleaning, but it remains a fine candy and from this brewer, a gift. Aroma is just packed with alcohol and roasted barley. Taste is similar, very unexciting and one dimentional. cgarvieuk (4222), Edinburgh, Scotland
