gnoff (2923), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 20, 2006 Draught at Bishops Arms (Västra Hamngatan) Gothenburg, Sweden. Difficult to see colors well in the rather dim lighting, but the drink seems black. Big beige creamy head, lasting. Initial citrus hoppy scent and some burnt aroma, even before I’ve removed the protecting head. Burnt flavor with some acid, but not much, long lingering chocolate aftertaste. Citrus hops in the taste after a few sips. Also a bit of the American hops in the aftertaste. Medium bitterness and mouthfeel. Refreshing and very nice, highly recommended!
Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 16, 2008 (On tap) Pours a hazy black with an orange hue and a rough, beige head. Burned malty aroma. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, burned malty accents and a malt bitter finish. 180908 PMgep (33), Lund, Sweden Oct 11, 2008 (Bottle at Beermakers dinner) Aroma of coffe and chokolate. Very faint flavor of chokolate but it dissaperas to fast. To much carbon acid. Ungstrup (11711), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 29, 2008 Draft at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt, and so is the flavor, leading to a dry bitter and roasted finish. oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Sep 29, 2008 Draught@SBWF2008. Deep brown colour, no head. Aroma is coffee, hops and mild peat. Flavour is fruits, some slight sour yeastyness, mild coffeeish and chocolateish notes. Yet very balanced. Aftertaste is mainly coffee and wood. Nicely balanced and rather sweet in the finish. KimJohansen (4299), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 19, 2008 Dark brown with medium beige head.
