SaintMatty (1195), Tallinn, Estonia Oct 10, 2009 Draught (Stockholm Beer Festival 2009) - Hazy amber in colour. Hoppy aroma with tangy grapefruit standing out. Hoppy and bitter taste with grapefruit, apricot and caramel. Very tasty. NMC01 (58), Denmark Oct 6, 2009 Draft from The Rover, Gothenburg. Nice IPA with American hop profile. Dry and moderate bitterness with grassy tones. This one tasted fresh (like IPAs should) and was served nicely and at a suitable temperature for an IPA. Frovigalning (388), , Sweden Oct 3, 2009 It poured a dark hazy reddish liquid, with a small light dirty orange foam. It had a strong smell of caramell, malt, bread, something sweet and alcohol. It tasted of caramell, malt, something sweet and had a warm alcoholic finnish. It had a smooth and thick mouthfeel and it tickled my mouth. A very nice beer. hirigalzkar (544), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 26, 2009 Tap @ Glenfiddich Warehouse. Ap; Dark mahogny color. Aroma: Milky with grassy hops. Taste: Lot’s of things going on here! Reminds me of Arrogant Bastard in it’s way of being able to present much of everything without being unbalanced. Caramel, grapefruit (really bitter), orange, burned malt. Ov: This has to be one of the better DIPAS out there. gyllenbock (238), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 22, 2009 Tap, SBWF. The color was dark amber-like, foam rather big.
Much grass, grapefruit, hops and some caramel and some chocolate.
The beer had a pleasant bitter end, nicely balanced. So nice to have a good Swedish Double IPA! fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Dec 18, 2008 Draught @ STBOWF. Stockholm Beer Festival 2008, Sweden. Clear medium to dark amber red color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heay malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, orange. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [260908] Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 18, 2008 (On tap) Pours a clear, warm orangey brown with a dense, beige head. Has a somewhat strange and very intense herbal or even medicinal aroma and also some alcoholic cough syrup. Quite full-bodied with sweet, dried fruit, spices, sweetish burned caramel and again these cough syrup accents. Lightly bitter finish. A very different and not overly pleasant Double IPA. 200908 Ungstrup (14723), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 29, 2008 Draft at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. A hazy amber beer with a orangey head. The aroma sweet with notes of caramel and strong notes of hops, grass, and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of hops, grass, and grapefruit as well as medium notes of straw, and light notes of alcohol, which also leaves a slight burn in the mouth. The finish is very bitter. Nice one.
