Commercial Description:

(Draught) Pours deep reddish brown. The aroma is of light smoke, liquorice and tar. The undertones are fruity and a bit roasted with some grapefruit hints and maybe some pears and apples. The flavour is malty, light pepper spicy with some liquorice and smoke. Also notes of dark caramel and chocolate. The mouthfeel is fat and a bit oily. Some grapefruit in the flavour as well. Medium full bodied. Strange but good.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 7 Dec 2007) Dark brown colour with brief, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate, dark fruit, wild berries and a hint of smoke. Roasted taste with tobacco, dark chocolate, coffee and a hint of smoke. Slight notes of acicidty in the finish. Very nice beer with an interesting mix of a belgian ale and a dry stout.

Draught at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Deep reddish brown with a firm creamy beige head. Fruity malts, with subtle earthy and yeasty notes, and a clear smoked touch. Medium bodied and very smooth. Dry with a moderate bitterness. Did not appreciate the smokiness, without it I could have really liked this one.

On draught at Bishops Arms, Västra Hamngatan, Göteborg. Dark brown colour with a tint of red. Pale brown head. Very light Belgo-yeasty in aroma with toast malt and a number of "darker" sensations. A hodgepodge of flavours here and a big, chewy mouthfeel. Bit salty and licoricy. Smoke and hops in balance. Good solid malty with a touch of toastiness. The Belgian profile is very subtle.
