Commercial Description:

Aroma: nice dark malts, chocolate, citrus, mango, freshly roasted coffee (very nice), the hops definitely make it so much better… Slightly off note in the background of well used idrottssalsgolv
Flavour: initally pretty bitter, fleshy, big maltiness. Some sourishness, sweetness and more bitterness comes booming. Very full-bodied. The flavour is in the realms of imperial stout, with more citrus and cocoa bitterness and less roast. This is awesome. The aftertaste if of sour cocoa. Really suprisingly cocoa-like. The hops add som e freshness which I believe lifts this up from a bitter cocoa-mess. Don’t get me wrong though, the bitterness is far from unbearable, it is just not balanced up very much sweetness, making it a beer that makes you thirsty.
Appearance: Dark earth brown, clear body. Yellowish-greyish fine head. Not creamy, but not bubbly.
Palate: Slimy as if cocoa were used. Fluffy, thick, elegant. Carbonation is rather weak (natural) – good.

Dark brown to black color. Light aroma, metallic, vanilla. Dry mouthfeel, with a sharp sourness from the roasted malt, dark caramel flavor, quite strong bitterness from the roasted malt too. It’s based only on the roasted malt, aggressive.

<i<courtesy of Per - cloudy dark brown colour with a persistent beige foam; nice lace; dusty with a robust biscuity maltiness and some sourish notes; creamy mouthfeeel, sweet and sour/acidic with a late bitterness; long malty, cookie-like finish with persistent sourish notes - very nice though I’m not fully convinced that this batch was totally under control

Bottle, thx to OleR. A clear, ruby beer with a lasting, finger-thick beige head. Roasted nose with chocolate, raisins and hops giving citrus scents. Orange mostly. Roasted, chocolatey flavor too, with notes of dried fruits, dark sugars, citrusy hops and a little bitterness. Full-bodied and sweet. Roasted finish with citrus and a nice bitterness. A quite lovely beer, maybe not the most Christmasy beer I’ve had, but lovely anyway. Nice with some cheese. (090501)
