Commercial Description:

Bottle. Pours a brown color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy caramel aroma with some hints of chocolate. Roasted malty hoppy bitter caramel flavor with hints of chocolate and coffee. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter caramel and chocoalte finish.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Deep brown colour, mediumsized doamy beige head. Aroma is very nutty, coffeeish, licorice, roasted malts and some fruits. Flavour is coffee, some sourness and some nutty.

Bottled (BB 04/2009, Vasa session). Deep ruby color, creamy beige head, lace. Coffee, caramel, nuts and typical Dugges yeasty aroma. Very coffeish, sourness - maybe slightly infected. Also nuts, caramel and toasted malts. Some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not the Dugges’ best.

Bottle, 7.0%. Good roasted aroma, a little refreshing aroma hop. Almost black colour, nice stable light brown head. The flavour is also nicely roasted, but there is a lactic note that I do not really care for. Still a good beer, though.

Bottle (thanks omhper!). Dark brown with a small, quickly-diminishing, very bubbly, brown head. Big roasty aroma with some coffee and some fine dark chocolate as well as some nutty notes. Roasted malt flavor with some coffee, some fruitiness, caramel notes, light acidity and alcoholic hints. Medium-bodied but seems a bit too light. Not bad, but I’m not very fond of the fruity (and slightly acidic) aspect in the flavor.
...Starting to like it better as it gets warmer. It also seems more chocolatey in the flavor now. Upped the score by two points by the time I finished the glass.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Clear reddish brown with a rough light brown head. Aroma of burned malt and dried fruit. Medium-bodied with burned malts and fruit with an underlying tartness - appears strangely unclean. Fairly bitter finish again with some tartness. 090209

500 ml bottle. Black with ruby red hues. Rich roasted aroma with hints of vanilla. Slightly burnt, but nicely balanced. Rounded malty flavours with a strong roasted character. Smooth texture. Rounded and wonderfully balanced. Strong coffee flavours in the finish.
