The aroma is of mild burned, medium roasted and medium caramelly malt with notes liquorice, smoke, rye bread, toffee, dark fudge, caramelized nuts and coffee/chocolate. Sal ammoniac salty on the nose. Herbal and citric hops in the background with hints of lemon, orange and jägermeister. Just a whisper of pine. Maybe some ginger bread and fruity esters. The flavour has that typical Dugge-ish dark beer malt profile of burned and caramelly elements. Soft caramel and chocolate finish. Dark sugar and rye bread. Also a bit herbal and citric. Rowan pomes are also notable. The bottle has some light sourish notes. The draught version is cleaner. The mouthfeel round with a soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. The love: Nice beer. Typical Dugges. The problem: Infected bottle? matador (6), göteborg, Sweden does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 10, 2008 Bottle and draught. This one and some really good vanilla ice cream! Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden
