Bov (4744), Bienne, Switzerland Aug 29, 2008 courtesy of Per - hazy redish-brown colour with a poor head retention; very malty and nutty aroma with notes of apples and gingerbread underneath; full-bodied and sticky, strong sweetness partially balanced by a fair bitterness; very long nutty finish, malty and with residual sugars - a solid, very tasty beer
Dedoulequeen07 (128), london, Greater London, England Oct 27, 2008 Cloudy Amber in colour with a white head. Aroma of citrus., pine, and fern leaves. Taste is quite similar with alchol burna and long lasting bitter aftertaste. I would like a better balance of flavours. jhagmar (110), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 18, 2008 50 cl bottle, thanks ekstedt. Reddish brown, cloudy, with a white head. Heavily hoppy. Notes of caramel, milk chocolate, herbs and grass. Moderately sweet, with a heavily bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, somewhat astringent. SaintMatty (556), Tallinn, Estonia Oct 1, 2008 500ml Bottle (Tack Svesse) - Brown/red in colour with a slight haze and a foamy head. Very fruity aroma with raisins, sultanas, figs, dried banana and a hint of vanilla being detected along with a moderately alcoholic scent. Fairly sweet at first, the taste then becomes a bit hoppy with some roasted and vinous notes. The finish is fairly warming and sweet and the alcohol is noticeable but is not overwhelming. It leaves a nice bittersweet fruity and hoppy aftertaste. Quite distinctive and very tasty. Theis (2490), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 30, 2008 Bottle at home - thanks to marsiblursi. Clear red/brown - white head. High berries, high hoppy, malty sweetness, yeasty, grass, citrus, wood, licorice, nice hoppy - but a strange mix of belgian & american beers. Gusgus (125), Tanumshede, Sweden Sep 14, 2008 Bottle, BB M 9. Pours dark amber to red, with thin head. Fruity and malty aroma of figs, plums, some apricot, bananas and dark roasted malt. Taste is soft and spritzy. Medium body, roasted grains comes through. A hint of alcohol in the finish. Very balanced and clean, with vanilla and pineapple notes in the finis. Warming alcohol without any bite in the aftertaste. A bit too sweet finish though, and quite bitter.
