| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2005 Bottle shared with Ralph, HogTownHarry, blankboy, DougShoemaker & mds - courtesy of Ralph. Hazy dark amber with a moderate light tan head. Woody, well-aged aroma, with a hint of freshly roasted coffee beans. Flavour is sweet to start, with roasted malt and coffee bitterness in the middle, and some herbal hops in the finish. I frankly expected some weak-ass Duvel clone based on the bottle, but this ended up being a really unique and impressive beer.
