Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, Ralph, DougShoemaker & mds -- courtesy of Ralph. Pours a cloudy dark orangey-brown with a small foamy off-white head. Nice smell of malt, dark fruit and spices. Great sweet flavour follows the aroma with a touch of alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. Better than I expected, I enjoyed this.

bottle. copper-brown body with a small whitish head. alcohol is evident in the aroma along with fairly sweet raisins. flavour is sweet too with a alcoholic mouthfeel with chocolate and caramel towards the finish. not bad at all.

Bottle (330ml). Shared with R, blankboy, GregClow, DougShoemaker, and mds, courtesy of R. Poured clear tangerine-orange with a beige foamy lasting head. Aroma of a mild dubbel; caramel malt, woody, somewhat fruity and spicy, musty yeastiness emerged as it opened up, almost reminded me of a light english harvest ale. Taste followed the promise of the aroma - woody and brown sugar roast malt - the oakiness added to the generic dubbel base, and I detected some tea-like mild hops toward the end too. Creamy mouthfeel with an average body - overall very interesting, if not a classic example of the style.

A Mes rate: Hmm nothing too special. Sweet malty nose with some metalic undertones (a fine band!). Very cloudy and murky muddy brown appearance with a white head that dies quickly. Sweet malts with vanilla and milk chocolate in the flavour. Finishes rather quickly for the style. Quite tangy on the palate.

Having recently sampled some of the great belgian strong ales, I must admit my hopes were perhaps too lofty for this beer. Boon has its roots as a lambic specialist, and this is their first foray into strong ales. Pretty pour, licorice brown, with cherry colors as well depending on the light. The smell is metallic, citrus, and sweet. I think perhaps it was served a bit too cold for me to fully appreciate the nose. The taste is sour, with some apple, yeast, and citric hints.

A little foam and the color has some dark cherry. Foamy palate. I found some orange juice in the flavor and some apple ("Pommac") in the aftertaste.

Bottle. First of all, it didn’t help that i had a Bush Prestige before this. Nice and soft, with notes of caramel and chocolate, and candy sugar and also brown sugar. Some subtle notes of berry fruit. NIce soft mouthfeel, quite drinkable.

Dark malty nose, with hints of fruits. Brownish to reddish color, with a small off-white head. Some sweet maltyness in the flavor, but quite weak.
