Sep 16, 2007 Bottled in Kaisla, Helsinki. A bit sour aroma of raisins. Dark with a hint of red. Whitish head. Taste full, without alcohol, good long finish. Something disturbing with the taste though.

Sep 3, 2007 on tap at erasmus. pours reddish-brown with off white head. nose of oak, toffee, and cherries. flavor mellow oak with subtle cherries slightly tart, with soft toffee finish. everything in perfect balance and subdued. easy to drink. carbonation is mellow and full mouth feel. i’m not sure what there isn’t to like about this beer and i don’t get the low ratings. perhaps beer has gone through some changes. tasted like a brown ale aged in a boon kriek barrel.

Jul 20, 2007 Small offwhite head. Hazy chestnut brown body. Sugary medicinal licorice aroma with toffeeish notes. Sharpish spicy licorice taste with roasty spicy hoppy notes. Dryish grassy aftertaste. It’s OK. (0.33l bottle from Dorstvlegel, Antwerp.)

Jul 15, 2007 Draught at the Hotel Erasmus, Brugge. Hazy reddish brown color with creamy tan head. Sweet aroma with licorice, toffee, berries and sourness. Sweet and sour flavor with dark sugar, licorice and toffee. A bit sugary.

Jun 18, 2007 Red brown body with lots of stuff in it, off white creamy head fast away; Very small malty nose, very elegant and fine, floral and mineral; Very fine and elegant body, complex, very balanced; Long fruity fresh slightly bitter malty floral aromas in finish. Strange and good, very fine and elegant for the style.

Jun 14, 2007 (33 cl bottle) Clotty look of yeast, brown color. Really lots of sediment. Lasting fluffy tan head. Hoppy scent, unusual much hops for a Belgian beer. Sweet, some milk, a bit hoppy but mostly rather mild taste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Roasted malt aftertaste.
