| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 12, 2007 Aroma is Tang-like, with a hint of peach juice. Medium straw color. Flavor lightly sweet, not sour, with ample hops. Rests very easy on palate like a good lager. Good with hamburgers grilled on the patio during a hot afternoon. wxman (587), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 12oz bottle as part of their multi-pack. Translucent bright red body with a thin off-white head. Smells of biscuit malt and pine and floral hops. Reminds me in a way of licorice, but the aroma reminds me of the pine ale I’ve had. Hints of grapefruit show up as the ale warms. Piney citrussy pithy hops dominate with kind of an herbal aftertaste and biscuit and caramel malts in the background. On the thinner side of medium bodied with a somewhat slick mouth presence. Fairly drinkable. Not a bad example of the style, though I’ve had better, but I’ve had worse lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Rich Reddish honey colored pour, with yellowish beige head, lacing, and a mild soapy, hop smell. Also a bit metallic on the taste, bland with a dull hop taste that was almost tart again like the pale bock. Might be a bit old as well. Needed some sweetness to make the flavor pop out a bit more. Very light honey sweetness in the finish after it warmed up, but this was still really bland and one of the worst pales I’ve had. Cornsloth (16), East Wenatchee, Washington, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 3, 2007 A nice cherry red color, with a good off white head. Smells of hops and malt. Tastes as it smells, very hoppy. Swallows smooth with a bit of unwanted edge. The beer finishes with decent lacing. LinusStick (1844), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Ho hum American pale ale. Aroma was barely noticeable even with my schnozz completely in the glass. Pour was a nice deep gold with just a hint of a head. Taste was somewhat bland. A mix of lackluster malt with some hops in the finish that didn’t bite nor bark. Wouldn’t try again. I’ll bet this is the first rating to use the word schnozz.
