Commercial Description:
A wonderfully balanced true pale ale. Cascade, Tomahawk, and Amarillo hops create a citrusy aroma with a smooth, crisp finish. A subdued malt character nicely complements the hop complexity and produces an orangey amber hue.

Amber orange appearance.Strong sense of bitterness with no other flavours being given a chance. This bitterness lingers.Different but not very exciting.

Bought a variety 12pk this was in it. medium amber color. very thin white head. Aroma is great American hop zing. Nice citrus notes. malty up front and a sharp hop bite in the finish. Malt definitely takes second to the light corn malt flavors.

12 oz bottle from latest variety pack. Like the porter in this pack, this is milder than I expected as far as flavoring goes, but with the bitter beers I don’t mind that. I like my beers smooth and this is that. Golden/amber color, light aroma, light head, and a smooth citrusy flavor. 5.3 ABV gives this a bit of a kick. Not bad at all. I like this a bit better than Saranac’s PA.

Golden colour with a small head. Complex aroma with hops, malt, and a hint of citrus. Sweet, honeyed taste with a slight bitterness to finish. I don’t drink many beers like this, so they come as a pleasant change.

I look forward to this taste with eager anticipation. I have not been too disappointed with dundees other products. I’m hoping the pale ale will be better than most pale ale’s I’ve encountered. Pours a little darker than your typical pale yellow american beer. Perhaps even a little brown, but definitely transparent. Has the hoppy, slightly fruity, aroma of a good beer that lends itself to possibly be a little more than a simple macro. Upon first taste this beer is somewhat similar to the initial impression I get from weaker IPAs. The IPA impression fades within a minute or two to reveal well behaved pale ale. I don’t think much of pale ales, but I think I am finally beginning to adapt to the hoppy style. This is better than Great Lakes Burning River and is on par with Lancaster Amish and Flying Dog Pale Ale. Flavor of bitter grapefruit peel. Again, this is reminiscent of a mild IPA. I don’t recall the other american pale ales being this bitter. Finish has a slight astringent bite but does not linger for too long.

Beer mug, from bottle. No bottle date; sampled Dec ’06. Average head, white, fading. Fair lacing. Clear, copper-penny color. Aroma is flowery and citrus hops. Body is light and thin, with just a hint of hop oiliness. Flavor is pretty well-balanced, with malty character emerging from the hoppy front. Finish shows hops and wants to be dry, but ends up sticky. I want to like this brewer, because their stuff is readily available in my area. They’re capable of making well-balanced beers, but they need to add more character to the individual components.

Clear amber color with a small head. Not very strong aroma. Slightly bitterness to the taste and something I can’t quite peg. Hops are evident.
