Commercial Description:
A wonderfully balanced true pale ale. Cascade, Tomahawk, and Amarillo hops create a citrusy aroma with a smooth, crisp finish. A subdued malt character nicely complements the hop complexity and produces an orangey amber hue.

THOUGHTS: Really nothing memorable. I do love the new labels , but hate the fact that they dropped the "J.W.". It said on the label that it’s perfectly balanced, but I thought it leaned way too much to the hop side at first. It did balance out as it warmed though. Not bad, just nothing special. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light to medium orangey amber with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished and left barely fair lacing. The aroma was weak. There was light to moderate grain and caramel malt and light herbal and piney hops. The initial flavor was sweet and a little acidic; while the finish was lightly sweet, bitter, slightly sour and slightly acidic with an average to short duration. There was a little caramel malt, grain. piney hops, slight metallic hops alight citrus hops, a little herbal hops and tea. But it was all a bit watered down. The light to medium body was like watery syrup with very fizzy carbonation and a lightly astringent and slightly metallic finish.

Overall Impression: Picked a Dundee mixed pack a while back, and this was in there, I recall that it was a decent Pale, but nothing too memorable...

Pours a clear amber with moderate white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of caramel, biscuit with citrus & floral hops. More malt in the taste than hops to me, which is okay. Aroma and flavor is not overwhelming, or favorable in a way to set this apart. Medium body with bitter finish. Lacing is moderate. Good offering of an APA. Good, not great.

Suprisingly good brew. Nice bitter taste with a good mix of hops. I like this one.

[2207-20090602] 355mL bottle. Weird funky floral sugary caramel aroma. Clear, medium orange amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Dusty mildly bitter dry wood malt flavour with a long heavy malt finish. Medium body is a little bitter. Could handle more bitterness but am glad it doesn’t.

A nice copper body with a white head that had some retention but not a lot. Aroma had big hop note and some caramel malts. The flavor was lacking although it had nice hop notes and a decent malty backbone it was in the end watery. Smooth finish.

A beer I enjoyed quit a bit. Definitely has a hoppy taste and pours a light brown with a small head. Has a sweet initial taste and a bitter finish. Overall is a smooth beer and paired well with my dinner. The weakness of the beer was it was a tad watered down, other than that was enjoyable.

Bottle: Deep golden orange with an off white film of head. Sweet aroma with butterscotch and peppery grassy notes. Fizzy, only a bit more substantial than seltzer. Sweet buttery flavor. Diacetyl ridden with peppery vegetal and that macro caramel character. Pretty bad.
