Flavor wise you get just hints of cream/caramel/bread and malt, but it completely works for this beer. More hops would distract from it. Nicely done and approachable. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Pours a translucent amber with an average tan head that left some lacing. More of a malty aroma than what I would expect from a pale ale. Flavor is malty up front with some hops at the end. Not very well balanced. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2005 Bottle: poured orange/brown with a m edium sized off white head. Moderately malty aroma with a touch of hops. Taste iniitially was citrusy hops but mellowed more into a malty beer. Pretty decent and something I would drink again when out in town. zach8270 (2127), Henrietta, New York, USA

Not much of an aroma, but it was mainly floral with lots of hoppy notes. The taste was very balanced, the hops and the floral notes were well mixed with the semi-sweet flavor near the end. Not too bad, and had lots of hoppy bitterness at the end. gws57 (1138), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

Different. Somewhat sweeter than most pales, far more balanced with less hops in the finish, slightly alcoholic taste. Quaffable. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2005 From the bottle this pours a very clear amber/copper with a fast falling white head. Tastes kinda like burnt caramel in the malts up front with a sort of dusty finish in the hops. Malts are a bit earthy in the finish alongside a solid hop finish. Alright beer, but the finish tastes a bit stale. 5000 (2540), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2005 Bottle: Orangish golden, large off-white foamy head, fairly decent lacing, subtle carbonation. Very pale hop aroma, slight wet cardboard. Hoppy start, very mild, bitterness fades quickly leaving a grainy/earthy sort of aftertaste. So far one of the better Dundee beers I have had. Decent body, moderate mouthfeel. Fairly clean finish, albeit quite light just like most other Dundee brews. Meh... not bad but also not robust enough for a good APA.

Nice enough looking amber/dark orange colour..large foamy thick off white head.
Aroma very subdued for an American pale..though the hops are there if you inhale deeply enough.
Taste is actually ok..starts slightly sweet and caramel malts then theres a nice slighly citric hop taste though its very slight for the style.
Pretty nice on the palate..the mouthfeel is slightly dry.
Its a nice enough beer to quaff..but not a great pale ale.
