Subtle and inviting nutmeg early flavor with a good creamy yet moderately light mouthfeel. Clove flavor comes in later and the hoppy finish is also pleasant. Not an everyday drinker but by the fireplace watching snow in the winter, it’s a winner. JFGrind (1354), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Picked up a six-pack for $4.99 @ Total Wine in Cherry Hill, NJ. Crimson medium bodied dry with spice, cocoa, fruit, and nut flavors. Overall High Falls comes through with a decent winter/spice ale @ a good value. My guess is the sucess of High Falls commercial brewing neighbors F.X. Matt & Lion into extending their lines has lured it into brewing more craft beers. Priced reasonably and an above average product will keep me trying additions to the JW Dundee’s line. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Pours a clear, deep, reddish-copper with a lasting, creamy, beige had that laces nicely. Spicy and malty, on the nose, with notes of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and a faint cocoa thrown into the mix. Light-bodied with soft, yet lively, carbonation and a quick, crisp finish. The flavor is similar to the nose with a spicy, malty front and a lightly bitter/dry finish. Cloves dominate here with lesser notes of cinnamon also coming through. It’s a decent spiced ale, but it’s not something I’ll likely drink again. kitschy (210), Nebraska, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Little carbonation, not much foam, pours a great dark amber, burgandy color. Smells of spice and hops. Has a strong apple taste to it. Lots of bubbles and lacing. Pretty good. SudsMcDuff (1707), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 12, 2007 woo... is lightly spiced... the taste and mouth is Muddled but does show some promise, ..maybe ..... medium head on the pour ... lacing is actually damn fine!! ..does carry some strange aroma’s... basically....."weak!" ...Is nice for a winter warmer not to be over spiced but that lack of body hurts this brew... Pours brown with a dark reddish amber with a thick off white head. Surprisingly, this is not a horrible beer. Clearly the best Dundee beer there is. Decent roastedness, strong toffee flavors. Not much aroma. mmmbeer (765), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2007 12oz bottle into my tumbler- poured non transparent dark amber, bubbly lacing head. Moderate carbonation, aroma of roasted malt with a slight yeast not. Hits the mouth with a thin body, many notes of spice (nutmeg?), finishes with a hop note. Nice.
