Biscuit malt and nut dominate the aroma with hints of frutiness. Nut and roasty caramel malt dominate the flavor, with suggestions of spice. Creamy medium body. While not the best winter beer I’ve had, a really good one, and exceeded my expectations considering the brand and brewery. leeburg (149), Juneau, Alaska, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2008 $4.99 for this sixer. Wonder what it goes for normally. Bipolar in appearance. First bottle was pretty shockingly awesome, with an exquisite rocky, spongy head and lovely lacing, and the second had a soap-bubbly immediately dissipating head and entirely flat appearance. Aromas of raisins, plums, belgian sugar, malts. Caramel and malt, kind of sticky or syrupy, sweet almost all the way through before a very lightly astringent and metallic finish. For the price (and if the first bottle describes most bottles appearance-wise), big applause here. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 27, 2007 The beer released from the 12-ounce bottle set a deep reddish amber with a tall creamy off white head that stays a while before settling, lace forms a standard thin sheet upon the glass. Nose has a sweet malt aroma, chased up your olfactory opening by some pleasing spices; cinnamon seems to be right, caramel, and bit of bakers’ chocolate, at any rate a sniffable beer. Start has a big malt sweetness; touch of bittersweet spices, top is light to medium in feel. Finish as a delectable spicy hop presence, sweet spices and a purposeful acidity, quite a nice drinking beer, do not normally care for their beers, just goes to show you never know what mollusk has a pearl in it. lol valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Deep ruby red pour...reminiscent of a fruit beer. Quickly dissolving tan head. Pleasant aroma, some nuts, sugar, sweet malts and some conglomerate of spices, none of which I can individually pick out. Flavor is very nice, easy to drink, and pleasant on the palate. Flavor focuses on the malt flavors, cinnamon, and other spices built in. Palate is somewhat watery, but nothing offensive. Somewhat high in carbonation, but not bad. Overall a very quality offering for a seasonal ale. jimhilt (1687), Bow, New Hampshire, USA

Nice clear amber color. Malty nose. Light carbonation and light-medium-bodied. Flavor is some caramel, hints of nutmeg; finish has some of bitterness. $1.75 for a 12oz from Barb’s Beer Emporium Concord, NH. beerbill (1964), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Christmas in May! I stopped by the Superstar Beverage store in Bayport and came across several Christmas beers that were available as singles and figured what the heck. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer, as I haven’t been all that impressed with the other beers that have come out of High Falls. This beer pours a lovely clear reddish amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted until the last sip and left a lingering layer of foam with each and every sip. Pleasant malty aroma with some spice in the nose as well. The flavor is sweet malt with some nuts and spice. The spice flavor lingers for a while after the swallow. Surprisingly smooth and well-rounded at the finish. Very light bitterness at the end. Enjoyable! rampmaster (322), Alden, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a nice deep reddish amber colored body with good clarity. On top sits soft light tan head of about medium size. Head retention is ok as it slowly fades to just a very thin wispy covering. Lacing is minimal and very slick sliding down with the head.
Smell: The aroma has a nose of holiday spice, cinnamon being the standout, as well as sweet dark malt with just a touch of hops.
Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has a pleasant touch of cinnamon and nutmeg inside of a sweet malty body with a slight hint of orange peel and citrus acidity in the background. Its hop character is very light and modest. Its spicy flavors carry on nicely into the finish. The texture has a creamy smooth feel with a good balance of carbonation and a solid, fairly well rounded body.
Notes: Overall it was a pleasant Winter Warmer Ale.
