Commercial Description:
Our India Pale Ale is brewed with an aggressive hop profile derived from Amarillo and Simcoe hops. A blend of Crystal malts creates the backbone which supports the hop character without diminishing it.

12oz bottle in Columbus, OH. Gold with a thin off-white head; honeyed aroma; strong herbal hop flavours, with an underlying caramel sweetness; somewhat lacking in finish. More an APA than an IPA. DIsappointing.

12oz bottle, exactly middle of the road, to me this is a pale ale, not an IPA.. try again Dundee, possible old bottle, because these hops were very subdued and i generally enjoy both Amarillo and Simcoe.

Nice copper tone with a creamy white head. Kind of mellow for the style, because it’s not as hop dominant as you would expect. Not bad but not great.

Bronze to copper in color. Taller beige head. Pine cleaner and orange zest aromas. Some faint caramel. No malt depth perceived in the scent. Initial flavors of caramel and lightly toasted malt. LIghtly wood malt and hops in the middle. Seems somewhat thin in body, with leads the feeling that this a light ale with some extra hops and some toasted malts. Fairly bitter finish and linger with grapefruit flavors and a zesty zing on the tongue.

(12oz bottle from sampler 12 at home on September 2, 2008) Poured out of the bottle with a short white head atop an incredibly clear, light-orange body. Steady carbonation with small bubbles. Lacing slides right down the glass. I detect syrup. Aroma of malts, caramel, sugars, and a hint of hops. Wait - that’s not caramel... it’s bad, burnt sugar! Mouth is watery, subdued - flavor seems to be as if issued from Starbucks using one of those syrup dispensers. Detergent. Sticks in the craw. Same vibe I’ve gotten from the rest of the Dundee brews. The more of these I drink the more disappointed I get. Definitely not worth of an "IPA" label. Barely counts in my book as a pale ale.

Poured a slightly reddish light brown/tan with a small off-white head. Not much complexity in the aroma, mainly malts with some hops. The malts and grapefruit flavor in the flavor were balanced well I think, but there was definitely room for more hops. The aftertaste was surprisingly sweet.

with primarily a taste of hay and caramel malty sweetness this beer holds a hop taste too mild and a bit one dimensional similar to a grapefruit syrup. detergent like mouthfeel, that is meant as a complement this beer is an interesting conglameration of components that unfortunately do not add up to ipa’s as they are typically enjoyed today. recatagorized this type of brew would score better.

Fairly average India Pale Ale which surprisingly is low on its hoppiness, especially for an India pale ale.
