| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Rich, deep amber with a foamy, lasting head. Light body; kind of creamy. Malts were weak; some toast, pinch of caramel; some "candy sugar" notes, similar to some Canadian IPAs I’ve had. Hops were underwhelming. Somewhat stark (plant-like) right off the bat. Flat aroma (single flower). Bitterness was a bit unbalanced (not enough malt to cleave off the starkness). Drinkable, but I didn’t really enjoy this IPA. AskForJenny (656), Ontario, New York, USA

Retasted on 16 Aug 08 - Not sure eactly when things changed, but this si a well constructed, refreshing, proper IPA. Nicely malted with plenty of hops. Moved from 1.9 to 3.3 here. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Bottle: Bright copper pour with a smaller beige head. Nose is floral and citrus hops with some maltiness. Flavor has decent floral hoppiness and retains a little malt backbone. Just a bit soapy. Still easily the best of the JW Lee’s series. lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Updated: Nov 2, 2007pours copper with a nice 11/2 finger bubbly off white head. aroma is hops then some malt with a little soap. has a medium body with ok lacing and good carbonation. flavor is malt then hops with a little sweet caramel then some soap and pine. has a nice dry hop aftertaste and the pine grows stronger in the aftertaste. not bad of an ipa i guess- it is session-able. also has a little bite on the tongue from the carbonation and hops. this is the best beer out of the six beer sample pack i bought and then comes the american amber and apa at second best.
re-rate on a fresh bottle from a regular six pack a very good cheap go to ipa, 2/$10 at a jewel osco no less. more like a good apa/above average/good ipa. has a little orange peel also in a fresh bottle. has a little grapefruit thrown in also. this beer is very hard to rate, which is a first for me. some were hard , but this is very hard in the ipa category. jredmond (1068), New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2007 12 oz bottle out of the JW Craft Pack. This IPA was good. Moderately hoppy, sort of bitter fruitiness -- grapefruit maybe. dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2007 has a sweet aroma, not typical for IPA, but typical for JW Dundees, not an overwhelming floral IPA, but with the sweet mix enjoyable. hogan873 (334), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 17, 2007 Another good brew from J W Dundees. Pours a clear copper with a thick white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat light, but there are definite notes of grass and pine and maybe a little citrus. Good bite of bitterness up front with pine and grapefruit prevelant. Finishes with some sweetness that dissolves into a slightly bitter aftertaste. For the price, a very good IPA. ratman197 (3262), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Bottle poured a clear copper with a large lasting off white head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, light pine and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied crisp and slightly dry. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, light pine and a hint of grapefruit rind with a crisp drey moderatly bitter finish. A rather boring IPA.
