Appearance: Deep amber color with a large, foamy, light tan head. Decent head retention.
Aroma: Big malty nose with notes of caramel, nuts, and toast. Not to style, but not bad.
Taste: Metallic with weak caramel notes. I should have known better than to expect something good from this bunch. It also has a light bitterness in the back.
Palate: Medium, smooth carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a short, malty finish.
Overall: A less than mediocre marzen that isn’t worth giving a try. WakeandBake (431), Greenville, Michigan, USA

On tap for growler fills at Half-Time. Pours a clear orange with a medium white head. Smells very sweet, with some faint honey and pear notes. Medium bodied, grainy and cloying. Finishes up with some more grain and a bit of acrid bitterness. Tough to drink, unpleasant.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Dundee Oktoberfest is a crystal clear, sparkling amber beer with an off white film of a head that dissipates and leaves great lacing on the glass. There’s not much aroma to it. It smells a little sweet and pretzely. It has a medium body and a chewy finish that’s a little chalky. It tastes pretzely and mellow. There’s a tiny touch of sweetness that’s well balanced with a green, leafy bitterness. Yup, Oktoberfest.
