so good. a great lager that stands on its own. but add in a light honey taste that’s not too overbearing, and you have a masterpiece. this is by no means a bitch beer.

Bottle from sample pack. I haven’t had this beer in years. Pours a dark gold with 3 finger white head and spotty lacing. Nose is malt and faint honey. Taste is sweet corn, malt a touch of honey with a very mild hop bitterness in the finish. Not as sweet as I remember which is a very good thing. Lighter mouth feel.

JW Dundee’s Original Honey Brown Lager is a clear, sparkling golden lager with a thin white film of a head. The aroma is faint; sweet and tangy from light grain and honey. It’s pretty light bodied and reasonably smooth. It’s a bit watery and quite bubbly. The finish is crisp. It has a very mellow flavor-- smooth and a bit sweet. Light grain and honey are abundant and there is hardly any bitterness. It’s a very unoffensive session ale that I would drink on purpose.

Appearance: Pours a clear copper body with a small, fizzy, white head. Smell: Some florals, some apples, even some chemical-based honey. Taste: No real clear-cut maltiness, but you do get a taste of apple juice sweetened with an addition of corn syrup. Very light floral hoppiness but no real bitterness. Slight chemically astringency near the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Bleh! I’m slowly working my way through the JW Dundee’s Box of Horrors, and this one, so far, is the worst of the lot. Again: bleh!

Crystal clear pale yellow brew. Looks more honey then brown. Honey sweet corn syrup aroma. Flavor is watery, honey. Very fizzy and light bodied.

light aroma of honey. Pours like a diet soda...fizzy big-bubbled head that lasts all of 3 seconds. Color is medium/dark golden. Good carbonation but the body is thin so 2.5 palate. Even though there is little of it the hops/honey/malt seem to be in pretty good balance.

Golden brown color with white head. Sweet honey malty taste with minimal hops flavor.

(12oz bottle from sampler 12 at home on July 2, 2008) Just came inside from working in the garage, needed something light, sweet and refreshing. So I went for this bottle from my beer fridge. Pours an ultra thin and smooth-looking fall into my pint glass. Well carbonated, heavy, active foam that dissipates in seconds. Very clear, almost looks watery, with a honey-colored tint to it. I wonder if that’s an artificial color... hmm. Aroma is of a light American lager. Taste is very light, a little sweet, possibly lemon. Not too over-honeyed and better on the tongue than I was expecting for such a light-bodied beer. Still has the aftertaste of... am I about to say it?... of a macro.
