A rather innocent brew lacking in complexity, but equally innoffensive. Essentialy, a clear, crisp lager with a bit of honey mixed in. A decent lawnmower beer, even if a bit sweet.

Not sure how I haven’t seen or heard of this before, seeing as how I’ve been to Rochester on a beer trip, and that it was at my local mass supermarket. Nevertheless, tried this out and this is the best representation of a honey beer available. Its not exactly the most attractive category, but this beer excels by packing moderate honey sweetness with drying hops. Deep golden brown body, head is a little ugly. Otherwise no gripes about this one. Just a solid representation of the style without being gimmicky.

12 oz. bottle. This is a ’local’ brewery (just down the road to Rochester), and I was surprised that I did like this beer. Sweet, with a 4.5 ABV gives it a nice little kick, without a heavy aftertaste. Got this when a local mart went out of business and glad I did. I would keep this around to sip on.

Why have I never rated this tho it is near my fingertips at every store? I spend so much time seeking out craft beers and it’s hard to respect anything that is so obtainable, you take it for granted it will always be there. Finally, in the right place at the right time I picked up a craft pack. This one had five in it. Nice packaging on the 12 oz twist off bottle. The color is a clear medium gold brown. I don’t see any bubbles or lacing on the side of my steeler stein. Nice feel on my tongue, tingly sips. I detect very little, if any, hop bitterness but the positive flavor characteristics of hops are present. Very nice carbonation on the drinking, sizzly but not quite like lancaster strawberry. I find JWDOHBL to be a satisfying drink. At times I feel I’m drinking a dry ginger ale. Finish fades and is a little watery but there is a lingering hint of malt. I’m sure I’ve drank this before but never paid much attention to it.

Bottle from Tesco. A slightly dark lager with caramel and crystal malt. Some vague honey flavour as well. A fairly unpleasant sort of drink with the crystal malt not sitting comfortable on such a light body. Not my thing at all.

Deep copper hue with a thin white head. Weak slightly skunked nose. Weak in flavour, very thin, weak and as with the nose slightly skunked. Carbonation is lively and it just makes you belch (a lot). All in all a pretty poor effort. A weak tasting, skunky bottle of burps.
