Overall Impression: This one wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. Malty, bready, and just plain alright...

**Just submitted a photo for this one, as it was missing one.

[2110-20090421] 12floz bottle. Sweet creamed corn aroma, like a cob sitting in buttery water. Clear, amber orange body with a quick foamy white head. Sweet toasted corn flavour with some popcorn and some gross paint water. Medium body. Quite poor.
(from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo, NY; w/ blankboy, garthicus, jerc)

12 ounce bottle from a sampler from a Wegman’s somewhere in Northern Virginia. Pours a clear orange-amber with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, nutty notes and honey. Taste is grainy, bitter grassy hops and a light fruity finish. Something a bit vegetal and unpleasant is in there also. Medium bodied. Very poor example of the style.

Bottle: Golden pour with perfect clarity and a thick off white head. Sweet pale Munich malt aroma dominated by dough/sweet pastries and honey with a touch of vegetal when swirled. Rounded carbonation. Sweet flavor as well with lots of honey soaked bread, but not under attenuated. Mild bitterness. No major off flavors, but it should be drier and possess way more bittering noble hop character.

Pale amber/gold beer. Aroma is fairly malty. Light sweetness. A little bit earthy and chewy with a fairly clean character. Fairly clean maltiness with a bit of light hoppiness. It’s a decent, non-offensive heller bock.

Pale copper color, well carbonated with a nice white head. Musky, earthy aroma with some faint malts. Slight creamy smooth mouthfeel. Slightly sweet. Light crisp hop notes. Clean aftertaste a little dry.

Shared by Jerc and Mabel with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Yellow with a small white head. Aroma: Aftershave, malt, lactose. Flavour: Caramel, honey, malt. I’m so underwhelmed by this its not funny.

Pretty good, not usually my favorite style but this is a good representation of the category. Nice ABV without knowing it. Good taste and palate, better than some but again nothing special.
