diminishing down to a pillowy softness. Big chocolate malt aroma, subtly spicy, with a slightly musty,
cobwebby yeastiness and dried fruit sugary sweetness. Flavor surprisingly bland, big metallic notes with low
roast and light sweet toffee. Finish is light bodied and as light in flavor leave a slight plummy sweetness.
Dammit. Cocktease in a bottle. Tmoney99 (4742), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium roasted flavor with medium bittersweet finish of short to moderate duration. Drinkable beer. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2008 This is a decent porter. Beats out the rest of the beers they did. Aroma was still very weak (as all the others). Pour was a nice deep dark brown with mahogany outlines and a one finger tan head. Taste was full and delicious. A nice sweet and roasted malt flavor with just a hint of coffee in the aftertaste. As it warms and strong chocolate flavor comes out. Very drinkable porter. Block (369), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 9, 2008 Pours dark brown/red with a tan head. Aroma of mostly sweet roasted malts. Flavor of mainly malts with some coffee and some metal. JPDIPSO (4906), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Dark brown color with a Diminishing light tan head. Sweet aromas of dark brown sugar and toasted sour dough bread. Thinner, fairly zippy feel. Light dark candi, sugary start. Toasted biscuit with some sweetened coffee grounds and a bit of alcohol creep in. Finish is quite dry and has a bit of herbal hops. Late in the linger a touch of roasted malt comes out. Just seems like a thin feeling, stronger dark ale. WISEGUY572 (1246), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2008 A pretty small porter in every way, but quite drinkable and, as porter’s go, relatively low alcohol. Not opaque, dark reddish brown, tiny head. Nose of sugar, sweet malts, a little chocolate. No surprise in the taste, sugar, sweet malts, and hints of chocolate. Thin for a porter but not unpleasantly so ... none of the silky oily feel of a great porter but not unpleasant. Certainly the best I’ve had from this brewer. HonkeyBra (1341), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Dark pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is weak. Flavor is basically of the worst porter i’ve ever had.
