| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 1, 2008 This is a quality dark and robust brew that seems to trumpet the advent of winter. Much superior to the Dundee Pale Bock, and one of the best Dundee brews in my opinion. BREWMUSKCLES (1078), New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2008 good flavors that are in sufficient volume. dark with roasted light cocoa and coffee like character that is mildly sweet and unoffensive with an true porter like balance and overall profile. this porter has a real porter like palate and is refreshing yet almost silky. medium and bit nutty. with a mild hop addition that works and is a nice touch. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Bottle. Thin roast and caramel nose with a little dusty cardboard. Coke pour with a fizzy tanned - light brown head. Dry, roasty, with a touch of ash and too-strong carbonation. Thin, watery body, caramel and corn syrup with a little bit of earth and near-noble hops. Threatens to cloy but doesn’t quite get there. Simplistic and a bit artificial; finished about a third of the bottle before deciding I’d had enough of this! toddkrem (81), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 21, 2008 Color is dark with a medium head. Tastes semi smokey and roasted. Has a good taste not too strong but just enough. A good dark beer that isn’t too thick so I can drink it in the summer. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Nearly black body that show a pretty garnet color when held to light. The head is large and light brown. The aroma is rich with chocolate chip pancakes and light coffee. There is a hint of prunes. The taste is light milk chocolate mixed with cheap coffee. There is also some cola. A decent porter, this could use a little more roast character. afireinside96 (838), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 18, 2008 12oz bottle served in a shaker glass. Dark brown body that light can barely penetrate topped by a dissipating tan head. Smells of biscuit and chocolate. Smooth roasted flavor with some hints of coffee and bitter chocolate.
This was the only beer of the six in my variety case that doesn’t completely suck! It is too bad that you never see it alone because the variety case was only $24 and I would gladly pay that for a case of this. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 18, 2008 12oz brown bottle as part of a multi-pack. Pours a dark brown/black nearly opaque body with ruby-red highlights and a half inch of light tan head. Smells toasty with strong caramel notes and a hint of hops. Tastes toasty with toffee and caramel with slight grassy hops toward the finish. Medium-bodied with ample carbonation. A darn good porter for sure, much better than expected, and certainly the best beer from this brewer I’ve had so far.
