Pours a dark brown/black nearly opaque body with ruby-red highlights and a half inch of light tan head. Smells toasty with strong caramel notes and a hint of hops. Tastes toasty with toffee and caramel with slight grassy hops toward the finish. Medium-bodied with ample carbonation. A darn good porter for sure, much better than expected, and certainly the best beer from this brewer I’ve had so far. AskForJenny (656), Ontario, New York, USA

Nice. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA

The mouthfeel is kind of thin and dry, but very drinkable. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Deep brown pour with red highlights and a tight foamy tan head that lasted throughout. Aroma and flavor dominated by roasted caramel malts and coffee. Palate is a bit thin, but still smooth. Not bad for a six pack porter. Imaena (259), Portland, Maine, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Bottle Bangor. Fine head that dropped out quickly. Typical porter profile just watered down and flatened out. Boring if you really appreciate the style.
