Smells of light, roasted malt, vegetal, some spice, earthy. Tastes sweet and earthy with some light peppery splashes. Fratto (766), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear, dark brown with a tan head that fills well and laces nicely. Roasted malt aroma, with some alcohol present. Sweet, with a medium body. Finishes a bit long. For the Dundee 12 pack, this is the best (?) beer. thedm (3837), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strongly carbonated dark brown colored body. The weak aroma was brown malt. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of roasted malt and brown malt. The roastiness occurred at first then faded. Later that evening, my stomach became upset after drinking it. An OK brew just nothing special. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Poured to a dark brown with ruby tints, and a thin off-white head that lingers a while and leaves okay lacing. Nose is a complex mix of charcoal, licorice and a hint of acramel. Mouthfeel is a bvit on the thin side, but the flavor picks up where the nose left off and throws in just a slight morsel of smoked wood and alcohol. Finish is extrmely dry, and also short, but all and all, not a bad beer by this brewer that normally does not impress me. asheft (1488), Marburg, Germany

Light toasted malt aroma with faint vanilla and some herbal hops character. Almost opaque red-brown under thin, off-white. Moderately sweet roasty and toasty malt with a strong vanilla note and weak dried fruit accents. Medium body, moderate carbonation, tangy roast finish. Not bad, but not exciting either. Malty with hints of roasted coffee, and earth y notes. Caramel malt, a bit thin with some light burnt malt. Decent. DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Fruit and malt aromas. White head. Dark coloured and smooth on the palate with a crisp dry and slightly bitter roast finish.
