12oz bottle, got from Curt who got it from his father in law. Nice aroma. Roasty, malty, hints of cream, and earthy hops. Color looks nearly black with red tints. One fingered, khaki, frothy head sits atop. Initial taste is sweet malt, milk chocolate, mild roast, and floral hops followed by some big roastiness, with a nearly burnt aspect to it, heavy cream, and floral hops. Nice mouthfeel. Pretty tasty! The lactose is maybe a little too forward, but I would not hesitate to take another one of these out of my buddy’s cooler at a KU tailgate.

Bottle Pours a nearly opaque light brown. with a small light tan head. Nice soft woody cohocolate aroma. Light roasted and leathery. Flavor is of light chocoalte and of wet brown paper bags. The kind that I used to take my lunch in in 3rd grade. Not totally unpleasant, but earthy and wood pulp. Light bittrerenss that is balanced, and easy to put down. Not bad.

Bottle (12oz). Deep,deep ruby-brown with a decent creamy-frothy beige head. Fair porter smell, dry roast coffee, hints of cocoa and nutshell, light dry hops - a little syrupy. The taste is light, lactic and a bit like cola syrup with bitter and dry elements. Average body, dry and silky mouthfeel, quick finish, not much alcohol, and an overly bitter aftertaste.

Description on the bottle identifies this beer as a Porter, Ale and Malt Liquor with 6.5% ABV. Aroma of molasses, coffee, and roast malts. Imperial-ish Pennsylvania style (think Yuengling) Porter with middle of the road porter qualities. I liked JW Dundees Porter, its a drinkabke porter with a notched up alcohol level.

A straight average porter, almost right down the center. slightly roasted, coffee bitter and maltness presence. for a casual drink

Almost a good porter, but the flavor is too weak and the finish is watery. No hop flavor or aroma. Typical roasted malt taste. Easy to drink and light bodied for a porter.
