The head eminishes quickly, but laces well. Has a nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and caramel. Has a medium boby. Good carbination. Feels good in the mouth. Has a real hearty taste, solid and lightly bold. Has a decent finish. This is a pretty decent beer. I was suprised. Well done. PhatB420 (143), Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Strong porter here, nice touch on the combo of chocolate and malts. Its quite smooth and not the expernsive, a great beer for the recession. Aubrey (2782), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Average porter. Dark brown in color with a thinnish head. Medium to full mouthfeel. Sweet roast along with some sourness. Other notes of milk chocolate, creamed coffee, light vanilla and syrupy caramel. Sweetness definitely prevails over the bitterness. Dryish in the finish, with a slight grassy-earthy bitterness, although there is also a sticky tar-like residue in the aftertaste. Overall, not a bad porter. cfrancis (363), Gloucester, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Malty aroma. Not a strong porter in taste but a very good one. I’m not one for a strong porter and this did me well. Chocolate and malt finish that is smooth not strong. aletales (73), , Oklahoma, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2009 This porter had a nice dark pour with a slight head. It’s aroma was fruity with strong roasted malt accents. The taste was a rich roasted malt as one would expect from a porter, yet it lacked the complexity of some other porters I have had recently. It seemed a bit light on the palate, but it was very drinkable. One thing I have to remember is that this beer cost less than a dollar a bottle. Maybe there needs to be a value scale as well. If there was this beer would knock the top out. Bockyhorsey (2561), Mesa, Arizona, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 28, 2009 Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a nice tan head. The aroma was roasted malts and chocolate. The flavor was light roasted chocolate malts, a hint of coffee, a hint of vanilla but a little watered down for my liking. Overall, average at best. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 27, 2009 Smoked peat and beef jerky scents backed up by a mild chocolate presence. Nice aroma just not robust enough to score higher. Opaque amber/brown pour with a nice frothy head and abundant lacing. Lighter in body than most in this style, bitter-sweet on the tongue. Finishes thin and gets a little cloying. Roasted, toasted malt flavors along with light coffee and chocolate. Slight metallic aftertaste, but fairly flavorful overall. This is almost exactly what I expected from this bottle.
