Not sure if this was a perfect sample, but it was what we had to try. Sour malt and a thin body made for an uninteresting combination. There was the caramel/chocolate hints I hope for but not very hoppy.Overall not all that enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark brown in colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, chocolate and a small roastiness. The flavour is malty (toasty, grainy, bready, some cookies), a bit sour. Thin mouthfeel, medium-light body, medium carbonation. Finishes fairly quick and clean.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Funky sour roasy aroma. Something is really off. Pours a dark brown with no transparency. Huge off-white head with decent retention and great lacing. An off chocolate flavor up front with a rather sour finish. Finish is an unpleasant combination of roasty sour nuttiness.

Dark brown color with little head. Some richness in the aroma. Not too interesting. Brown is a tough style to make special.

Deeper brown, cola color, small tan head. Pretty malty, but it’s fairly soft in its delivery and just not very interesting. Thinner body. Ah well.

Hoppy nose, brown, with a small tan head. Soft maltiness, light bodied, fair beer, but doesn’t suit the style. A new state though!

Dark brown w/ fizzy brown foam. Sweet, malty, mildly toasty, flavour of caramel & chocolate w/ a mild acidic tartness. Thin feel. Flavour is also toasty & malty (caramel, chocolate) w/ some light fruity notes.
