The fizz sound on the pour was just like a cola, and speaking of cola, that's what it looked like, and topped by a medium tan head. Aroma had cola sweetness. Taste was quite bitter, more chicory malty than hoppy. It had minimal sweetness, hints of caramel and, yes, cola. jcwattsrugger (5528), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Body is somewhat thin, roasty, dry and bitter. An ok brown ale, but I expected more from this brewery. hopscotch (5504), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 3, 2005 Bottle... Sparkling clear, very deep, copper ale with a small, frothy, lightly tanned head. Good retention and excellent, mountainous, glue-like lacework. The nose is of toasted caramel, milk chocolate and cola. The flavor very hoppy and thin. Lots of hops, not much malt. Some bitter and burnt notes. Light-bodied and watery with fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. A pretty good beer, but not much of a brown ale. Thanks to matta for the bottle. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 25, 2003 Dark mahogany color with an initially large frothy head but fades to a small layer of suds and a ring of lacing. The aroma is slightly nutty with a burst of light hops touching through. Flavor is rather musty with a green roasted feel at the end. Interesting brown ale, not as robust as most, a little more dry and hoppy. Thanks Mabdoney!
