If you like brown ales, you want to give this one a try. Malty, not too roasty, smooth, and refreshing. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA

Aroma of brown sugar and toasty malts. Pretty full and rich in flavor. Tobacco, roasted malts, and nuts lef up to a pleasant, lingering hop finish. Tasted generic but was very enjoyable. Good hoppiness, nd overall great balance. Quite scottish style evident in all of these guys brews, from what I can tell. Worth finding. Too bad I had bad information and the brewery was closed when I went! lilannie (384), State College, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 18, 2006 Bottle, pint--The pour was a deep brown in color with the slightest reddish tint on the edges. There was a fairly large tan head that was almost frothy. The aroma wasn’t strong and contain mostly a roasty maltly smell. The flavor was overwhelming malty with some smokey touchs and hops finishing on the end. A bit unusual finish, but quite pleasant. Overall a fine Florida beer. The most important thing to remember when having a fine brew is to have it at room temperature. That really lets the flavor come through. There was a perfect blend of the 9 hops and 5 malts. A great brown ale. Not dark enough, and not they malts lack a nuttiness to them. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2006 Looks like cola - frothy, light tan head. Metallic, slightly hoppy aroma - some brown sugar and molasses. Very malty. Matly finish, fillled with cocoa notes, dry and roasty. Decent amber. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2006 Bottle from santa - dark amber pour with a frothy head - fairly nutty, typical brown ale aroma - fairly inviting - very hoppy and herbal up front - the hoppiness subsides, leaving a semi-dry, cocoa and hazelnut quality - pretty nice for the style - quite under-rated.
