jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 20, 2008 on tap-pours a retaining tan head that laces and dark mahogany color. Aroma is coffee grounds. Taste is coffee grounds/chicory-dark malt, also something else but its hard to identify. Nicely done, Joe would love it, but not my style.
Beerlando (1352), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 17, 2007 Draft at Redlight. Clear, thin looking chestnut body. A dense, foamy, cream colored head settles slowly to a thin blanket. Random patches of sheet like lacing decorate the glass. The aroma is pure, unadulterated, dry coffee beans. Nothing more, nothing less. One whiff of this will really wake you up. The flavor is more of the same. Coffee, coffee, and more coffee. Mo complexities. No intricacies. Just......coffee. The mouthfeel is thin and weak. Finishes bitter. This is a boring and one dimensional brew. Quake1028 (628), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 11, 2007 Draught at Redlight Redlight. Shame I had to go all the way to Winter Park to enjoy this beer. Nose of coffee beans, but also tones of tobacco and smoke. Damn, this is powerful. Flavor is pretty much all coffee and tobacco leaves as well, with some creamer and milk chocolate in there also. Creamy palate, medium-full bodied for the style. Finish is lengthy, and like every other aspect of the beer, full of tons of coffee and tobacco. Good stuff, glad I finally got to try it! fishingnet (856), Brandon, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2007 Tap at Old Chicago Brandon. Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a two finger light tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of coffee. Taste is coffee. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Not very complex but to be able to drink coffee and get drunk at the same time is a beautifull thing. gunhaver (660), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2007 Updated: Jun 5, 2008Tastes like pure coffee beans. Not so much brewed and rich coffee, but just pure, raw coffee material. Not that drinkable overall.
National Rerate Day ’08: On tap at Mellow Mushroom. Pours a reddish brown with a creamy white head. Aroma of coffee, roasted nuts. Pure coffee grounds in the flavor, vanilla, nice roasted quality overall. Roasty, bitter mouthfeel. Smooth finish. Enjoyed this considerably more the second time around.
