Extremely distinct coffee aroma. Light and almost watery body completely dominated by coffee flavours and an edge of chocolate. Quite delicate. 040406 Oakes (8108), gone rambling, Cambodia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Bright chestnut. Strong coffee nose with little else. Motel coffee with chocolate syrup added. But you know, it’s better than that sounds. It’s a bit thin, though, and more malt sugars and body would bring out the coffee better. jcwattsrugger (5550), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Taste is coffee grounds/chicory-dark malt, also something else but its hard to identify. Nicely done, Joe would love it, but not my style.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 22, 2007 Draft... Clear, dark ruby ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Thin aroma and flavor with heaps of spent coffee grounds in both. A touch sweet. Medium-bodied and watery with lively carbonation. Short, sweet, coffee finish. Tmoney99 (4771), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2008 Draft at Dunedin. Poured clear brown color with an average fizy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate dark chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Medium to full bodya smooth texture. Medium to heavy roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is the best of the sampled brews. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2006 On draft @ brewery. I was told this was their first big batch of this beer (7 barrels). Deep amber color with thin off white head. Wow, this beer smells like a cup of coffee. It is really just amazing. Almost like sticking your nose into a hand full of coffee grounds. I think behind the coffee aroma I can pick up roasted malts. The taste is full on coffee. I should be drinking this with eggs and bacon in the morning. Like the aroma I can just taste some roasted to burnt malts behind the coffee. Around the edges are some pine hop notes. Tasty beer full of coffee aroma and flavor. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2009 At brewpub. Color is reddish brown like many coffees but clear. Coffee bean aroma. Overpowering coffee smell covers up the underlying malt. Thin mouthfeel and flavors. The coffee is so intense, the caffeine-intolerant could substitute this in the morning or afternoon. All coffee bean and little complexity, but does manage to be decent and drinkable. nick76 (2676), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 24, 2007 This is a special coffee beer that seems to really stand out. The aroma had plenty of coffee and so did the flavor. The palate was a tad thin but overall it’s quite good.
