hazy light yellow, thin fine white head, light sweet spicy hop aroma, light creamy body, nice sweetness, good long bitter finish, just a hint of alcohol as the only sign of being an imperial

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2008 on tap-pours a big retaining white head that laces and pale yellow color. Aroma is wheat/grain, secondary/faint citrus lemon. Taste is crisp, wheat/grain, secondary citrus lemon/grassy/spicy hops. OK carbonation. Not an over the top Imperial Pilsner, nice. hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Draft... Clear straw-colored lager with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Orange blossom honey and cereal grains compose the aroma. Full-bodied and velvety with sleepy carbonation. Lots of sweet honey, toffee and pale malts. Spicy hop bitterness provides no real bite... and it should. Good balance. Lengthy bittersweet finish that gradually dries out. I was hoping for Samuel Adams Imperial Pilsner and I got Dogfish Head’s Golden Era instead. Worth noting: DFH’s original Prescription Pils was the bomb! CaptainCougar (5538), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma of sweet pilsner malt and nice Saaz hoppy presence. Body starts with a nice sweet, viscous pale maltiness and good fresh noble bittering hoppiness. Nicely-balanced and authentic, a good imperial pilsner. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA

Big hoppy notes in the aroma. Mostly perfume notes that cover the light malt underneath. Moderately hoppy flavor with a mild sweet malt underneath. The finish is failrly spicey. Medium bodied. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2006 KP’s fest. Sample from the tap at the bar, keg brougth by Degarth. Thanks Joe. Pours a hazy gold with a sticky pure white head which lasts. Aroma is cirtus with herbal hints, slightly flowery, and light pine hops- medium pils malt backbone. Very bitter in the flavor which I like- more citrusy hop flavor with some more herbal hints in the back of the throught as the bitterness comes in. Very nice IMpy pils- reminded me a bit like SA which I also like. Ibrew2or3 (2833), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2006 On tap at Duniden Brewery (July 15th). Cloudy gold color with white head. Light aroma of malts and something sour (maybe lemon). The flavor has a nice combination of lightly roasted malts some sweet malts and fruity yeast. The sweetness plays against the lesser grainy maltiness to create a pleasing flavor. I also get a bit of sour or tartness. This is a crisp fresh tasting brew. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2006 Updated: Dec 20, 2006Draft. Huge saaz hop aroma is citric, grapefruit peel and lightly floral and beneath this lies a grainy/grassy smelling malt aroma. The body is a rich golden color and holds a firm creamy looking, lasting, white head. Big grapefruit hop blast in the fore followed by a balancing, slightly sweet, malt base that is a little grassy, but very crisp. At times the malt component gets almost bready, but the hops are firm and even and are the main element. Finish is light, dry and imparts a sustained hop bitterness. Nicely done.
