| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2003 Really nice light ale. Soft gold in color with a surprising citrusy nose and palate. Goes down really smooth. jeffc666 (1896), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2003 Clear sparkling golden in color. Nice white head. Aroma is typical of this tyle (adjuncts). Metallic malty bready aroma. Flavor is a bit metallic but there is a surprising amount of bitterness. Body is thin. This is a ver drinkable brew. A very good example of the "lawnmower beer". In fact this is probably the best one I have had. LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 28, 2003 Bottle. Tastes and smells like adjunct. A bit skunky. Light amber appearance, below-average head. No good. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Aug 28, 2003 (via mabdoney) Golden yellow in color, weak head. Skunky malt aroma....taste wasnt much better. Finish was dominated by adjunct, cereal, some hoppy notes in there too....let's just say Im not too impressed. | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Aug 25, 2003 Very odd nose of chemical plant exhaust, plastic burning, fakeness. Strange all the way around with that plastic taste that dries out my mouth. Something has gone terribly wrong here. Cool bottle, though! jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 16, 2003 Golden body with slight orange highlights with a 1 centimetre thick white head. Smells of malt, a bit of hops and wheat. The taste is very mellow and subtle. A bit hoppy...not much at all, and a bit malty. No other crazy characteristics to write about, because it is simply a straight forward beer. Closest relatives to the macrobrews or the boring large 'craft brews' of Anchor, Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada. A good beer, not great or spectacular, but if you aren't looking for anything impressive...stick with this one. I was lucky enough to get this 16 ounce bottle in a beer trade from Matt A (Mabdoney) in Florida...Thanks again! jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 8, 2003 Smelled like burnt plastic and stale water. Awful pale hops. I think I taste onions and fried vegetables. Ugh. Didn't enjoy this at all. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2003 As I seem to agree with many other raters, but this is only after I wrote my rating, I was also not expecting much from a “Golden Ale.” Yet I also was quite surprised by this Golden specimen of a beer. ** I was expecting little flavor, a fuzzy yellow water, but this is not the case! This Dunedin Celtic Gold is very effervescent, well malted, with a solidly hoped backbone. This beer is very floral and finishes a bit tart, maybe lemon, or maybe just hops? I really enjoyed this beer; I found it to be like a subdued brother to the Dunedin Pipers Pale Ale.
