This was a solid ale, and gold at that. I was impressed by its smoothe blend with the hops. Not overstated, but a full taste. A fine brew from Dunedin.

I don’t know what I was expecting with a name like celtic. But what I got was a strongly hopped ale. The hops were present from the pour through the finish.

Malt in the aroma, with a little hoppiness. Pours a light blonde with a nice white head. Very refreshing flavor, smooth, some malty sweetness, and a good hop crispness. My favorite from Dunedin.

Light gold. Good carbonation, loads of fizz and bubbles. Very hoppy. Bit of a sugary finish, also get some odd soapiness, but still a reasonably decent example of a style I don’t much care for.

Really light golden in color. Flavor is surprisngly rich; although not a ton of hoppiness, the character is assertive. Moderate maltiness leaves this beer light-bodied but full-flavored. Yes, that just sounded like a Bud commercial, but this is for real.

As I seem to agree with many other raters, but this is only after I wrote my rating, I was also not expecting much from a “Golden Ale.” Yet I also was quite surprised by this Golden specimen of a beer. ** I was expecting little flavor, a fuzzy yellow water, but this is not the case! This Dunedin Celtic Gold is very effervescent, well malted, with a solidly hoped backbone. This beer is very floral and finishes a bit tart, maybe lemon, or maybe just hops? I really enjoyed this beer; I found it to be like a subdued brother to the Dunedin Pipers Pale Ale.

Thanks to Degarth for this. Pours dark straw with a big, creamy white head. Aroma of malt, hops, citrus, slight fruit. Tastes malty, hoppy, fruity. Smooth palate, medium to light, with a slightly dry, citrusy finish. A decent kolsch.

On tap at International Beer Garten (Lutz, FL). Pours a clear golden color with a foamy white head. Nice mixture of malt and hops in the aroma and flavor. Not the best of the Dunedin family of beers but certainly not the worst either. Goes down quite smoothly and has a nice aftertaste. This one grew on me towards the end of the glass. I’ll have to try another one sometime.
