Whoa, Nelly, is this one under-rated. More under-rated than a free buffet at a whorehouse. Thanks to beer handy for this. Pours slight turbid copper with aroma of malt, huge spices including cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, some fruit, and even Concord grapes. Tastes malty, with more spices, concord grapes, and a toffee element. Yes, the spices are huge, but I did not find them overpowering at all. Plus, I found this one to be very comlex and very well balanced. I’ll drink this beer any day of the week, and then beg for another. Dunedin beers are better than they are rated, and they don’t even seem to get any love from the homeboys. Do you feel me, players?

Muted aroma of ginger and nutmeg. I get some pumpkin in there too, but that is probably a reaction to the nutmeg. Orange/tan color with a nickel thick head. All the flavors of x-mas! Overtly spicy. Ginger dominates, but nutmeg and citrus aren’t lost in the mix. A very interesting brew.

Draft at brewery from last Christmas. Great spicy flavor, with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and piney evergreen like hop bitterness.

Golden brown hue with a nice frothy off-white head and very good lace. Big spicy aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, white pepper, toasted malt, ginger, pear. The taste had a malty backbone but the name of the game hear is spice. But for all the wonderful spice, it doesn't overpower, which is a good thing. There is undertone of bitterness on the finish. This medium-bodied brew has a lively and dry mouthfeel. I'm hard to please when it comes to spiced holiday beers (which is the style this beer should be), this brew is a very nice winter brew from a state that doesn't know what winter is. Thanks Matt for the brew!

the aroma is quite festive and strong! I can smell the cinnamon and ginger from at least a few inches from my nose. There is a strong pine presence as well. The flavor is filled with spices, but it is pleasantly earthy and not too sweet at all. As a "winter warmer" it is a bit too low in the alcohol, but nonetheless it is a pretty well-balanced and decent beer. Almost chewy mouthfeel, smooth.

Bottle from Santa - cloudy copper pour (hurray for unfiltered beer!), with a huge, frothy head - strong gingerbread aroma, with some doughy/yeasty hints - quite an earthy smell - quite sweet, but not overpoweringly so - the honey is quite evindent, and it mixes quite well with the ginger and nutmeg - bread/dough character from the yeast - it gets a nice zing from the orange zest near the end, before closing with a long finish of clover honey and herbal flavors - a nice change of pace from most Christmas beers.

A very nice Christmas Ale. Nice deep brown color, with wonderful spices of nutmeg, orange, and cinnamon on the nose and palate. Definitely one to order at this time of year.

Hmmm, I liked this a lot more than everyone else did apparently. Amber in color, VERY spicy aroma....lots of cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.....the flavor didnt carry as much of it though, nice, sweet malts, still some spice and citrus as well. An excellent holiday brew.
