Big C Liquors, Winter Park, Fl - 22 oz bomber. Pours a rich, thick, dark ruby red fading to black with a frothy mocha colored head. Baddddd aroma of Copenhagan Snuff and bandaids. Flavor has the same band-aid quality to it with some chocolate notes seeping through and some smokiness redeeming it just a bit. Mouthfeel is thick enough, but the band aid taste pretty much ruins this one for me. Will look for again - me thinks I got a bad bottle.

Pint bottle. Dark brown beer with very little head. Hoppy aroma with chocolate and coffee. Flavor is hops, chocolate, and coffee, with a slight tartness. Smokey and roasty with a bitter finish. Fairly dry, but well balanced and drinkable. I am a big fan of the North East Florida Scottish Games Festival which comes to Jacksonville every February, and this beer commemorates a similar celebration in the Tampa area. Interesting and enjoyable brew.

Thanks to Degarth. The pour was dark brown, very large head. This is a smoke porter, no? I taste smoke and all the good porter tastes., choclate, caramel, ect. A bit thin, but still NICE!

Out of a pint bottle, thanks Degarth! Smoky aroma with a touch of earthiness. Poured a dark brown almost black with a huge head. Taste was good and smoky, roast malt and hops. Really reminded me of a bbq. Palate was nice not too thick or thin with a slow deep finish. Overall a good brew to share.

Oct 26th re-rate of the 2005 bottling.
The 2006 is basically a different recipe. Rather by mistake or on purpose doesn’t really matter. The fact is they are different beers. Aroma: Lightly smoky and slightly acidic with some mild cocoa notes. The body is dark brown to flat black with a diminishing thumb thick tan head. Light watery fore is slightly smoky with cocoa, chocolate and faint coffee notes. Watery mouthfeel with a sweetish almost baltic Porter raisin accented finish. June 2nd 2006 Re-rate
Aroma has a kind of rauchbier smokiness, but plastic tinged. Nothing like I remember it smelling. Body is a flat black, but I could barely tease any head from it. Fore is very burnt plastic, ashy, chemical accented. This batch HAS to be infected. This tastes like ass. And it’s thin too. This really used to be a decvent porter, but it is total farked up now.
Original rating 4: Roasty smoked aroma with a touch of peat. Some mild coffee notes as well. Pours nice with a thinnish mocha head on a dark brown almost black body. Great flavor. Dark choclate and peat smoke with roasted malt. Very well blended and a decent bit of hop bite. The beer is a lot bigger than it used to be. The taste holds longer. Very drinkable now.

(Bottle) Pours a burgundy-brown body with a moderate beige head. Aroma of mild smoke, caramel, and roasted malt. Flavor of grilled sausage, roasted malt, and some funky hops. Dry, somewhat bitter, fizzy, and a little watered down.

Translucent reddish-brown color under a thin, but lasting light tan head. If you’re a fan of peat smoked ales this will not disappoint. Doesn’t seem to fit the bill of a typical porter; more of a dark amber ale in color. Lots of smoke in the aroma backed by some roasted malt, caramel and dark chocolate notes. The flavor is of course dominated by the musty peaty smokiness which may be an acquired taste. Quite different from a beechwood smoked brew. Some toasted grain and dark caramel come through in the flavor also, but the finish seems a bit thin and watery, fading out quickly. Otherwise an interesting offer well worth a try.

03.25.05 Bomber thanks to Matta. Nearly black, opaque brown with fine tan head that lingers and laces. Aromas are smokey, but like smoked fruit, and some earthiness, and Juicy Fruit gum, and grilled peaches. Damn, this smells nice. Palate’s a bit thin, but the beer is coating nonetheless and actually a tad astringent with a mild acidity akin to a young French red. Little or no sweetness as I’d expected with any sort of beer that has to do with Scotland, Scotch, or Scottish. Plenty of peat flavors which are a nice match in this porter. Lighter fruit flavors seem out of place but are refreshing. Huh. A refreshing porter. I like it. Thanks Matt!
