Very rich and smoky porter, I would go as far as to call this a smoked beer. If you see it, better get it! redlight (1496), Winter Park, Florida, USA

Huge molasses nose sweet tobacco, somewhere between pipe tobacco and chewing, hints of tar and peat, its really impressive on the aroma! Pours reddish dark brown with a thing off white head. A wonderful flavor! Peaty, with loads of tobacco, molasses and caramelized malts, roasty and sweet, with hints of tar. Really quite unique! I’ve had some peat smoked beers, rauch beers, but this has a wonderful tobacco/tar-like quality mixed with the sweet molasses that is just great drinking! A very dark finish with rich smokey and matly flavors (but still creamy). Easily one of the best porters I’ve ever had. I wanted to take some home from the brewery, but they had no bottles available. Very dark and rich and peaty and scottish, prototypically so. This one would be good to find again. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA

I had been looking forward to their beer, and this was my first. It had a darkness to it and an overall deeply solid flavor. The bagpipes on the label were what put me over the edge, i mean come on, can you really go wrong with the pipes. CaptainCougar (5530), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Great smokey, roasted peat malt flavor with a soft bitter finish. The best I have had from Dunedin. A treat from the Sun Coast. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

It does not hit my palate like a ton of bricks and it was creamy enough to enjoy quickly. Solid. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Dec 3, 2002 Dark, dark red. Smoky as all-git-out, assuming that all-git-out is quite smoky. I mean, I assume it is, but it’s not like there’s a git-out glossary I’ve come across recently. Nicely rich and earthy as you bring the glass up. Some roast coffee malts up front, followed by smoke, followed by a nice long toffee finish. Reminded me in many ways of Tootsie Rolls dipped in coffee, with a bit of tobacco in it. Somehow, though I loathe both coffee and tobacco, I mean that in a good way. Again, is too thin, as everything I tried from this brewery was, but this is quite tasty.
